Biography
Thomas D. “Val” Guest, Jr. is a partner of Ouverson, Guest & Carter, PA, in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. He has been actively litigating cases since 1990, and possesses extensive experience in counseling clients on criminal, domestic, and civil issues.
A certified civil court and domestic relations mediator, Mr. Guest practices in the areas of business law, criminal defense, family law, auto accidents, real estate law, and general litigation. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Citadel in 1982 and a Juris Doctor from the University Of South Carolina School Of Law in 1989.
A member of the South Carolina Bar, Val was admitted to practice before the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court of South Carolina. Mr. Guest is a former law clerk for the Honorable John H. Waller, Jr. and former prosecutor for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit of S.C., which includes Horry and Georgetown counties. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Horry County Bar Association, of which he is a past president.
